7 Luxury Resorts in Phu Quoc, Vietnam

7 Luxury Resorts in Phu Quoc, Vietnam

If you’re in search of a relaxing tropical vacation in Southeast Asia this year, consider heading to the island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam. This beautiful oasis off of the southern coast of mainland Vietnam consists of white sand beaches, turquoise blue water, and acres of rainforest (more than half of the island is a National Park). There are plenty of great attractions to visit, such as Sunset Town or the Venice look-alike Grand World, but the true allure is the beautiful beaches and marine life.

Below are 7 of the best luxury (and beach front) resorts on the island, so you can relax and indulge on your trip to Phu Quoc.

*as a note, Phu Quoc currently has a visa exception for certain nationalities. However, if your flight has a layover anywhere in main land Vietnam, you DO need a visa. We had a quick layover in Ho Chi Minh City and were required to have a visa, as we needed to switch from the international terminal to the domestic terminal next door.

1. New World Resort Phu Quoc. My friend and I stayed at this stunning resort on Khem Beach and highly recommend. The entire property is made up of private villas, so this a great option for group or family trips. Each villa has it’s own private pool and there is also a beautiful infinity pool along the beach (as well as a separate kids pool). This is exactly the views I was picturing for a tropical vacation, making it a great spot to just spend the day lounging by the pool (there’s also a full service pool bar that serves lunch, so there’s no need to leave). If you’re looking for more adventure, there is a free shuttle bus to Sunset Town throughout the day. We stayed in the garden villa, which had 3 bedrooms (each with a private bathroom) as well as a living/kitchen area with a half bath.

Side note- the villas all come equipped with full kitchens, however the resort charges large fees to use them and requires you to buy your groceries from the resort. So it’s best to just dine in the restaurants; something to consider if that’s a deciding factor for you staying in a villa.

2. JW Marriott Phu Quoc. If you’re traveling to Phu Quoc as a romantic getaway with a significant other, this is the resort I would recommend. The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful colonial architecture with lots of Southeast Asian flair. The rooms are beautifully decorated with extravagant marble bathrooms and large balconies overlooking Khem Beach. Spend your days lounging by one of the 3 outdoor pools (including one shaped like a seashell), having a spa day, or taking part in one of the daily activities and tours offered through the resort. If you’re heading to Phu Quoc with family, there’s also a kids club on-site

Additionally, you can dine in 3 on-site restaurants, a cafe, and a beautiful full scale bar. We dined at their Red Rum restaurant a few times during our trip and it was honestly the best meals we had on the island.

3. Regent Phu Quoc. If your goal is full-scale luxury (with a secluded private beach), the Regent Phu Quoc is your ideal getaway choice. This resort boasts 5 swimming pools, 3 exceptional on-site restaurants, 2 beautiful cocktail bars, free bikes and water sports equipment, complimentary daily laundry service, a private yacht, and chauffeured Range Rovers to take you on tours of the island.

4. Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort. If you’re in search of a quiet peaceful vacation (without interacting with other resort guests), look no further than the Premier Village Resort. This upscale resort sits on its own private peninsula on the island, and is made up of private villas that each have their own private pool & hot tub (some also have private beach access).

Additionally, you’ll have access to a beachfront resort pool, 2 on-site restaurants, and a spa to make this a truly indulgent vacation.

5. Intercontinental Phu Quoc. This beautiful resort is located on the Southwest coast of the island on Long Beach, next to the Regent. The resort is well known around the island due to their extravagant rooftop bar (the highest rooftop view on the island), Ink 360, which features stunning views from the 19th floor and an elaborate bar that resembles giant octopus tentacles. The beachfront resort also features 4 resort style swimming pools and 6 on-site restaurants.

6. Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort. Located on the Northwest coast on Long Beach, this 5-star resort is located close to Phu Quoc’s amusement Park VinWonders, Vinpearl Safari, and Grand World, making this a great option for families wanting to explore past the beaches.

For those wanting to relax at the resort, you can spend your days enjoying the 3 beachfront pools, dining in the 4 on-site restaurants, or indulging in a spa day.

7. Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay. Located near the Sheraton, this is another great family-friendly resort that offers standard rooms & suites, as well as villas with a private pool. The resort offers 2 large resort style swimming pools, 2 on-site restaurants, as well as a beach club.
