What You Need From The Sephora Spring Sale

What You Need From The Sephora Spring Sale

If you’ve been thinking about stocking up on beauty products, now’s the time to buy! Sephora is having their annual Spring sale, which provides different discount amounts depending on your membership status.

-Rouge: 20% off 4/17-5/1

-VIB: 15% off 4/21-4/29

-Insider: 10% off 4/23-4/27 (it’s free to sign up as a beauty insider, you go up in membership by how much money you spend throughout the year, like a reward system)

To be honest, the discount isn’t that insane, so it’s not worth going into debt over. However, if your budget allows for it, and you’ve been thinking about purchasing some new beauty items anyways, you might as well get a discount on it. Below are my top recommendations of what to grab.

SKINCARE

Truthfully, skincare is where I spend the most of my money at Sephora. So I’m definitely taking advantage of any discount I can get here. Here’s my must haves:

-Murad Clarifying Cleanser: I’ve been using this for about 4-5 years now and will never stop. I actually tried to mix up face washes for about 2 weeks and had to run out and get a new bottle because my skin just isn’t the same without it. As a side note, I’ve never really had acne, I started using this as a preventative measure when I was living in humid Hawaii. However, it makes my skin so bright and clear, gets rid of blackheads, and even manages to make the texture better (my skin tends to get dry/sometimes break out in hives without this). It is my absolute holy grail face wash.

-Murad Invisiblur: Truthfully I’m not sure what this actually is, a moisturizer? sunscreen? who knows. I use it as a primer though and it makes my skin so dewy and poreless. It’s like wearing a filter on your face.

-T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial: A little at home facial you do once a week. It makes my skin sooo smooth and really gives it a glow. Be warned though, it stings for the first few moments. Well worth it though! Just don’t leave it on past the recommended timeframe.

-Ole Henriksen Balancing Force Oil Control Toner: Really great toner that helps prevent getting oily in your T-zone. I use this in the morning, and witch hazel at night.

-Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum: I’ve noticed a big difference in the brightness of my skin since incorporating vitamin C serums into my morning skincare routine.

-Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleanser: I like to incorporate an anti-aging face wash in the morning, and while it’s hard to tell if a preventative aging product is really working, this is a brand that I really trust. I went with this one and overall am pleased with how it works with my skin.

-Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox Eye Patches: Honestly, I had hoped these would magically get rid of dark circles, but they aren’t a miracle worker. They do make my undereyes bright and super hydrated though, and they’re super refreshing to wear. I keep them in my fridge so they’re extra cooling and help to depuff.

-Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask: Literally the most refreshing, hydrating mask I’ve ever worn. I even put this on once when my face broke out in hives (prob not recommended but whatever) and it helped to cool down my extremely hot itchy skin without causing any further irritation.

-Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask: Probably my favorite mask. It brightens my skin so much and gives me a glow the next day. As a side note though, this is not a relaxing mask. This feels like your face is burning off for 5 minutes. However, the results are worth it. Definitely keep this as a nighttime mask though, as my face tends to be a little red after using it (it’s normal and glowy the next morning though).

MAKEUP

These are my go-to makeup products that I use every day, I try to stock up on the ones that I typically go through quicker.

-Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer: Hands down the best bronzer I have ever used, period. The color is a perfect bronzed color that is highly pigmented, so you barely need to use any to contour your face. I usually have issues with bronzers where I barely see any color on my face an hour after using them, however this one lasts all day. I only discovered this one a month or two ago, but it’s definitely one of my must have products now.

-Benefit They’re Real Mascara: No other mascara compares to this one. It’s the closest I can get to look like I’m wearing falsies with a mascara. I do wear several coats though because I like my lashes to be dramatic (prob 4-5 coats). It wears really well, doesn’t flake on me, and handles being splashed with water during Summer river trips. It is a bit difficult to take off though, I usually have to lather 3-4 times with a makeup remover to get all of the product off.

-KVD Tattoo Liner: I wear this every single day on my top lid and I’ve never found an eyeliner that’s this easy to apply or that lasts as long. If I leave my eyes alone, it will easily make it the entire day and night, if I mess with my eyes it’s typically still there but might just require a touch up in the inner corner at night.

-ABH Brow Wiz: My favorite brow product! I’ve tried a few others and nothing quite does the job like this one. I like how thin the application is because it allows you to fill in your brows without it smearing all over. While I don’t need a ton of product with my brows, I do notice that there’s something “off” about my face if I don’t have it.

-Too Faced Born This Way Concealer: I just discovered this product two weeks ago and wowwww. By far the best full coverage concealer I’ve used! This is definitely one of my holy grail products now. I use the shade Shortbread for my undereyes.

-Benefit Watts Up Highlighter: Honestly, I don’t know what on earth I was using to highlight my face before this. This product works so well and is so easy to apply! It’s a little stick that I swipe near my eyes and on the tip of my nose and then just blend out with my finger.

-NARS Blush: I’m a big fan of their blush because they have really beautiful shades. I like the super popular color, Orgasm, and just recently ordered a new color, Dolce Vita, because I wanted a deeper more mauve shade.

-NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: This is my “not wearing any makeup” concealer. It’s less coverage than Born This Way, but still helps to brighten up your eyes a bit so you don’t look like complete shit. I throw this on if I’m just running to the gym or something. I like the shade Custard for undereyes.

-Laura Mercier Setting Powder: My favorite setting powder. I’ve tried a few others that all made me look cakey. But this one does a really nice job of actually setting your makeup while still looking natural.

-Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation: This is an awesome foundation that lasts all day. I’ve actually switched to a L’Oreal drugstore foundation now that works really well for me, but this one is definitely my favorite higher end foundation from Sephora.

MISCELLANEOUS

There weren’t enough of these to give them their own category, so I just grouped them together.

-Living Proof Full Thickening Cream: I have very fine, straight hair that tends to lack body naturally, so I’m always trying hair products to try to achieve voluminous hair. While this isn’t going to make your hair look like you’ve just had a professional blow out, it does make a noticeable difference for me and also makes my hair super soft and fluffy. I add a dime sized amount to damp hair from my ears to the ends and then blow dry.

-Face Roller: I actually found a nice face roller from HEB for $4 that works fine, but I went ahead and linked the cheapest Sephora brand face roller here. I like to use these in the morning prior to adding skincare and makeup to help massage and depuff my face. I notice I look more awake and it’s also feels really great.

-Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue: This has been my signature scent since probably high school or college now. It smells super light and refreshing and is perfect to wear all day. I get compliments all the time on this.

-Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Water: I actually like using these on my face for a nice subtle color that you can’t screw up too bad. I mix it with a daily facial moisturizer and then only apply it to where I would normally wear bronzer; this helps to contour your face a bit even when you don’t have makeup on, and helps make your undereyes look extra bright.

-St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse: This is my favorite self tanner, for a nice golden glow that doesn’t leave you looking orange or red. It’s pretty simple to apply, just make sure you blend really well (I use a makeup brush) on your ankles, wrists, and neck so you don’t have harsh lines.

WHAT I’M GRABBING

I can’t speak for any of the above products, as I haven’t personally tried them yet. However, after reading countless positive reviews, these are some of the things I’ll be grabbing during the sale. I’ll keep you guys posted on what I think!

Let me know in a comment below what some of your favorites products are!
