The 7 Best San Antonio Brunch Spots

The 7 Best San Antonio Brunch Spots

When I first planned to write this blog post, I had no idea how drastically life would change over the course of a few weeks. However, although we can’t currently go out to enjoy brunch, you can still order take out to help support restaurants, and save this post for places to try when things calm down in the World.

I’m now living in Alabama, but spent three years in San Antonio where I was lucky to explore a ton of great places. Below are 7 of my favorite brunch spots in SA.

-Whiskey Cake. This is probably my favorite brunch spot because everything tastes so fresh and amazing, it’s a farm to table restaurant and literally every ingredient is locally sourced from Texas. It can be a bit pricey, but in my opinion it’s well worth it. I usually order the farmhouse benedict and either a bloody mary (you can make your own, but I prefer to have mine made for me) or a mimosa flight. For those that prefer not to drink, the Hulk is an amazing green juice, I add jalapeño to mine for a little kick.

-Sangria on the Burg. Typically a taco restaurant, they serve up some amazing brunch on the weekends. The menu changes pretty frequently, but you can check their Instagram to see what they’ll have. I usually order pancake tacos and a mimosa or sangria flight. They also have amazing iced coffee.

-Magnolia Pancake House. Honestly you’re lucky if you can get a table here. There’s 2 or 3 locations and they are ALWAYS slammed. I’ve only been able to go once, on a weekday; on the weekends you’re looking at a 2 hour wait usually. However, the food is pretty amazing. I got a benedict and banana bread French toast.

-Sweet Paris. To be honest, this isn’t a true brunch place…but they serve crepes and mimosas so I feel like it still counts for this list. The crepes are awesome and it’s super instagram worthy decor.

-Southerleigh. Super good brunch spot at The Pearl. I usually order the eggs benedict (surprise surprise) and a mimosa. The Pearl in general is my favorite spot in San Antonio, so it’s a fun place to grab brunch and then check out whatever is happening at The Pearl afterwards. You can usually check out the farmers market or grab $8 frozen drinks at the Food Hall to walk around with.

-La Fonda on Main. Super cute mexican restaurant with Sunday brunch. When the weather is nice, they have a really nice courtyard patio to eat on.

-Stella Public House. This is actually usually a wood-fire pizza place in the super cute Blue Star Complex, however they have amazing brunch on the weekends. I typically always go with one of their benedict entrees and a mimosa flight. The portions aren’t huge, but they do make them aesthetic af, usually with a flower or something on the plate too. Be sure to also order a side of biscuits!
